Get a common denominator:

5/6*7/7=35/42

3/7*6/6=18/42

Add the numbers:

35/42+18/42=53/42

This fraction does not simplify, so 53/42 is our final answer.

5/6 = 35/42

Now add 

35 + 18 = 53

53/42
