The angle of elevation of an airplane is 9. the distance to the plane is 21 km. how high is is the plane?

The height of the plane will be found using the formula:
sin θ=[opposite]/[hypotenuse]
Thus the height will be given by:
sin 9=h/21
solving for h we get
h=21 × sin 9
h=3.285 km
